Hey Everyone – I’m excited to announce that, for the first time, Cuts from The Corner will have a new voice joining the mix.
StLouHoo will be collaborating with the site! You may know him from his awesome half-decade plus as one of the main contributors at Hoos Place. In fact, as I’ve mentioned before, his counterpart over there, SeattleHoo, helped me with my video editing solution which really allowed Cuts to become a sustainable thing. So, this seems all too fitting. Apparently, Cuts From The Corner and Hoos Place were allies in waiting all of this time!
Anyway, I appreciate the way StLouHoo looks at the game and his experience writing about the team. I feel as though we view what goes on at JPJ similarly so his perspective will very much be in the spirit of Cuts From The Corner but through a different lens. Initially, he’s written a detailed primer for the new-look ACC for the upcoming season and will follow that up with his thoughts in a pre-season conference power ranking of all 18(!) of the teams. From there, we’ll see where it takes us as we start to get closer to the season.
While I’ll continue to do all of the things you’ve come to know about the site: random musings, pre-season thoughts about the team, post-game video recaps… all of the opinion pieces, tracking a transfer, etc., all of my content is exclusively focused on our team, what we’re doing well and what we aren’t, what I’d like to see change, etc. But now you can also be on the lookout for the StLouHoo byline as he broadens the perspective of the site by looking outwardly at the team’s place within the ACC, keeping you informed of what’s going on with our competitors, what to expect when we encounter them, and offering his experienced take on how we stack up.
I’m humbled and grateful at having someone who has contributed so positively to the UVA basketball community over the years interested in linking up with the site and by the support that you all have given in just these two years it’s been live. I look forward to continuing to evolve what Cuts From The Corner can offer to any fan of the team who wants to really dive in – and am excited that StLouHoo will bring to the website to help realize that vision!
